Perhaps no industry....
has gone through more change in the last 5 years than the music / entertainmentn industry. In 2008, cd sales industry wide, were down 60%, download sales went up 134% and record sales (that's right vinyl lps, long thought dead) were up 83%. Many artists lament these times, as they see their sales decrease, and their distributors drop the number of units they ship. However some artists are using the internet and its emergent ways of reaching fans to achieve success never thought possible. This is achieved through creating and growing an artists community of fans, and driving would be fans to said community via online marketing tools. We are experts in the creation and dissemnation of these tools as well as music videos, having worked for countless independent record labels, as well as major labels such as atlantic and capitol. The game has most certainly changed....but as an artist you can still win by utilizing emerging technologies, increasing your visibility through visual media, incentive based marketing, live shows and being attentive to your fans. ask yourself....what would you want as a fan? |
